Windstorm on Bruce Pennisula

One of my favourite spots to hike and camp is along the Bruce trail near Lion's Head.  Beautiful views of the Georgian bay and the escarpment.  One late May camping trip a cold spring storm developed in the evening.  I had a small dome tent more suited for warm summer evenings than a storm.  The wind started first, followed by sheets of rain. This was 10:00 at night.  The wind gusted so strong I was trapped inside the tent bracing the poles so they wouldn't break!.  It poured rain off and on but the wind was constant through out the night.  I was so tired by the early morning hours I was sleeping on my knees holding the poles. Each gust of wind woke me up again to keep my little tent from being totally crushed.  Finally about 5:00 in the morning the wind decreased a bit and I could get some sleep.  Each camping trip is different but that one was gruelling.
